To order a Fragar pull-out tarp kit online you need one key measurement: the inside width of your truck body. It takes about two minutes with a tape measure, and we cut the housing, roller tube and tarp to suit.

What you need

  • A metric tape measure (millimetres)
  • Someone to hold the other end if the body is wide
  • Your phone, to photograph the front and back of the body in case we need to check the fit

Where to measure

  • AWidth at the front (this is the one you enter)Inside, across the top, wall to wall, where the tarp housing will sit. Enter it in millimetres as your box width (1500–2400 mm).
  • BWidth at the backSame again at the tailgate end. It should match A. If it doesn’t, send us both numbers and a photo before you order.
  • CInside lengthHeadboard to tailgate. Use it to choose a 5 m or 7 m tarp. Not sure? Send us the number and we’ll tell you.
  • DRope hook spacing (optional)The gap between your rope hooks or tie-down points. Enter it as your eyelet spacing (100–3000 mm) so the eyelets line up.

Measure in millimetres with a metric tape, for example 2300 (not 230 cm). A tape measure beats the spec sheet, especially on a modified or repaired body.

Step 1: Measure the inside width at the front

Measure across the top of the body at the front, where the tarp housing will sit, from the inside face of one side wall to the inside face of the other. Write it down in millimetres. This is the number you enter as your box width when you order.

Kits are made for bodies from 1500 mm to 2400 mm wide inside.

Step 2: Check the width at the back

Measure the inside width across the top at the tailgate end too. If the front and back numbers are different, or the top of the body has ribs or bulges, send us both numbers and a photo before you order so we can confirm the fit.

Step 3: Measure the length to choose 5 m or 7 m

Measure the inside length of the body from the headboard to the tailgate. The tarp comes in two lengths, 5 m and 7 m. Pick the length that reaches from the housing at the front, over the whole load, to the rear with enough left to tie it off. If you’re not sure which suits your body, send us the measurement and we’ll tell you.

Step 4: Decide on eyelets (optional)

Eyelets are metal rings set into the reinforced edge of the tarp so you can tie it down. If you want them, tick Eyelets when you order and enter the spacing in millimetres (100 to 3000 mm). A good way to get the spacing is to measure the gap between the rope hooks or tie-down points on your body, so the eyelets line up with them.

Common measuring mistakes

  • Measuring the outside of the body. We need the inside width, wall to wall.
  • Measuring at the floor. Some bodies are narrower at the bottom. Measure across the top, where the tarp sits.
  • Using centimetres. Enter the width in millimetres, for example 2300, not 230.
  • Going off the spec sheet. If the body has been modified or repaired, the paperwork may not match. A tape measure is always right.

What comes in the kit

Everything you need is in one box:

  • 200 × 200 mm aluminium housing
  • 63 mm keder roller tube and spring assembly
  • Heavy-duty mesh tarp with PVC-reinforced edges, 5 m or 7 m long
  • Galvanised end plates, pull tube, mounting brackets, pull rope and full fastener kit

The tarp sits on a spring-loaded roller inside the housing at the front of the body. Pull it back over the load and tie it off at the rear. Let it go and the spring winds it back into the housing, out of the weather. No motor, no wiring, no batteries.
